Smolikas Mountain Refuge

Mountain Smolikas

Mountain Smolikas is the second highest mountain in Greece, after Mt. Olympus. Its peak is 2.637 meters above sea level. It is on the backbone of Nothern Pindos and is separated on the North from Mt. Gramos by the river of Sarantaporos and on the south from Mt. Gamila by the river of Aoos. The main feature of Smolikas is its many peaks, with an altitude of more than 2000 meters, and also its rich nature. The area is a natural reserve for many rare species of the Greek fauna, especially in the virgin landscapes of Valia Cirna and Vathilakos.

Here in this bautiful landscape of Mt. Smolikas and at an altitude of 1.750 meters, you will find the Mountain Refuge of Smolikas. The refuge will constitute the best base for you to enjoy exploring and hiking in the wild and fascinating nature of our area.
